Why not test your liver…via a health sensor in your phone

Under: News, Other Mobile Phones
Date: December 15th, 2007

Korean Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology scientists have apparently created a sensor which connects to a mobile phone which can check your liver function. Technical details on this are somewhat vague however apparently this device notifies the user when it’s time to check on their liver health; it does this by measuring 2 enzymes in your bloodstream. The liver sensor apparently connects to your mobile phone via the charging port, and then it uses the phone to transfer its findings to a particular hospital for analysis, after which presumably the doctor can contact you if anything it shown to be wrong.

The Korean Institutes researchers have apparently already filed for a patent in Korean and abroad, so it may not be too long before we can all get hold of it.
