As you may be able to see from the CAD image, plans are being made to embed a charger direct into a mobile handset, should this concept take off it cuts out the need for a separate wired charger.
This design is still patent pending though, so there are no definite estimates as and when it may become commercially ready for launch; however its travel style design of retractable pins has got to be the main influence with this design; although even this type of built-in charger may lead to less slim mobile phone designs in future.
