Daily Mail UK launches Free MailTXT

But no it’s not a free SMS service; MailTXT is actually a downloadable Java application that is supposed to be able to work on any mobile handset. Members who send messages via the MailTXT application wiil gain them free, although there will be a small operator’s data charge. While non-members using MailTxT across the globe will only be charged 5 pence.

It is the Daily Mail’s intention to offset any data charges incurred by the user by paying them 0.5 pence per message which is redeemable via its shopping site or as coupons for the daily Mail newspaper.
