AAA battery back-up for Philips Xentium handset

Under: Mobile Phones, News, Philips Date: March 2nd, 2008

Philips Xentium

Haven’t covered a lot of Philips mobiles as yet, so here’s one they showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Philips Xenium 9@9j (have no idea why the @) like all the 9@9 series has great battery life, but this one is somewhat different…

Philips Xentium

The Philips 9@9j can also use AAA batteries as a source of power! Well honestly it uses a single AAA battery as a back-up power source if needed, but hey it’s still a good idea, right? Those problem times when your handset dies at the wrong moment, well it seems that’s the times Philips is trying to solve with the Xentium 9@9j

So, a few specs, the 9@9j sports a quad-band GSM/GPRS radio, 1.3 megapixel camera, media player, the obligatory microSD card slot, Bluetooth, FM radio, and 176 x 220 262K colour screen. Not sure where in Asia the 9@9j can be found or even no word on pricing.
