Nokia has recently launched Mobile Games Innovation Challenge with 70,000 EUR in prizes, which has been designed to “encourage development of innovative game concepts with the power to positively disrupt the global mobile gaming industry and to help propel mobile gaming with handheld devices into a new and exciting future.”
Nokia Publishing is the contests sponsor and they are inviting mobile game developers to submit mobile gaming concepts on either NGage or Java ME platform. Each developer is allowed to submit more than one concept with the overall winner being chosen by an external panel of experts within the mobile gaming industry, and will judge on the criteria of feasibility of execution, innovation, fun and market potential.
The outright winner of the Nokia Mobile Games Innovation Challenge will receive 40,000 EUR, second place receives 20,000 EUR while third receives 10,000 EUR, what’s more is the first three companies/developers will also be offered pre-production contracts with Nokia Publishing.
