The Nokia 5800 or the Nokia Tube, might have made an appearance in the movie Dark Knight, in the scene where Morgan Freeman hands over a phone to Christina Bale saying it is SONAR device which sends out a sound pulse and maps the area. In theater, I could read the words Nokia on it, and its about the same size as pictures above. That could be the phone.

No Nokia N98 was used in darknight which is another touchscreen phone that will be released by Nokia soon, hence Nokia will become the market leader in touch phones, its just a matter of time. BTW does any one know when 5800 will be released in UAE and Middle east?

Only had mine for a couple of days but what can I say… fantastic. I was going off Nokias and have looked at most of the touch screen phones available. In my opinion, this is the best one on the market.

have tested nokia’s Bluetooth and I don’t think its

really that good I use a Sony Wireless DR-BT20NX and I when I use this

with any other phone close enough (phone is in my pocket and I am

wearing the wireless Bluetooth) there no problems at all for the transmission

of music but nokia 5800 stops most times in the middle of the track for

about 5 seconds then resumes changing the bpms of the song

(here the track goes faster than before)

And this is close enough but some phones I have used with this

gadget (Sony Wireless DR-BT20NX) at a long distances (5meters)

    don’t find any problem

Could they give us a reason as to why does this happen

    A bit disappointing phone.
Music Xpress! right. Before you try connecting it to your computer and trying to load your favourate tunes…
It becomes evident straight away that NOKIA have put so much in a phone, gave it a great name and did not bother at all to build a half decent software.
    – The phone does not come with its own drivers for many operating system! NOKIA have depended on Microsoft to build drivers and depends alot on MS media player Ver 10.
I am a computer expert but to took me a good 10hrs to get it properly work on my XPsp2 until I downloaded MTP kit from microsoft and downgraded my windows media player to version 10.
    Even after doing all that,
when you connect the phone, you need to select on the phone how you want to link it to your PC (choices: PC suite, Mass storage, Image transfer, Media transfer!!) Madness!! It is not obvious where to put the music! NOKIA have used ./sounds/digital for music location. One would expect to see a directory named something like ‘music’ but it does not exist!
And after you have put your music on, It is not easy to work out how you put your music in a playlist!
    – The phone is a bit slow!
    – the phone only plays only afew video and audio formats! I this day an age music devices should be able to play all or a decent number of formats..
I found that I could not play almost 70% of my music and video, because the NOKIA do not provide software that can convert to their standard formats!

The phone is ok, I like bits of it, like ability to play videos through the TV & others But It still has a long way to go.
