Joint Innovations Lab established by Vodafone, Softbank and China Mobile

To “promote the development of new mobile technologies, applications and services,” three giants of the mobile phone arena, Vodafone, China Mobile, and Softbank have joined forces and agreed to establish a Joint Innovation Lab.

This Joint Innovation Lab will primarily focus its efforts within the rapidly expanding mobile internet service area such as mobile widgets ect. The Joint Innovations Lab has plans to create a platform for mobile widgets to encourage development of innovative new services which in turn will be able to leaver mobile operators’ unique capabilities.

The creation and development of new applications and services, along with the cooperation of vendors will also be welcomed into the Joint Innovations Lab. However, the establishment of the Joint Innovations Lab and its completion is of course subject to regulatory approval along with certain customary closing conditions.
