Official O2 Confirmation: Existing iPhone customers can upgrade to 3G in-store

We here at Phones Review made a few phone calls to some O2 Stores and were told that you “Cannot” upgrade to the new Apple iPhone 3G if you are an existing customer.

We were told that only NEW customers can upgrade, a few of us here at Phones Review after the phone calls to O2 decided to go to a store which were in Farnborough, Hampshire, UK and another O2 store in Westwood, Kent.

At first it was said that existing customer cannot upgrade in-store, but we can reveal that on Friday all existing iPhone customers can walk into an O2 store on Friday 11th July and upgrade to the all new 3G handset.

Obviously this is subject to availability and in that we mean dependant on if you get there quick enough before they are out of stock.

We have heard this straight from the horse’s mouth so to speak, if this turns out to be untrue then we will be very disappointed.

An O2 staff member did say to us you can indeed upgrade to the iPhone 3G and NO it is not only for new customers. So good news all round, you have heard this from us first.
