Breakthrough Cancer Foundation to benefit from Samsung U800 pink

It is good to see someone as big as Samsung come out in support of the fight against breast cancer. Samsung has slung its weight behind the cancer charity by giving proper meaning to the Samsung “Soul” by turning the mobile handset pink.

MobileWhack reports, for every pink Samsung U800 Soulb mobile phone sold in the UK, Samsung will generously donate £10.00, that’s roughly $20.00 to the Breakthrough Cancer Foundation to aid the ongoing fight against breast cancer.

A most worthy cause to stand behind and one the Samsung should be highly applauded for. I would like to see more of the power names within the mobile industry add their weight behind such a cause.

The only alteration to the Samsung U800 in the turning pink, all other feature remain original such as quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900, 3G support, 3 megapixel camera, 1GB internal memory and the old microSD port.

Wouldn’t it be good if the carriers also slung their support behind the U800 and donated a slice of their cut too?
