According to High Tech Computer (HTC) CEO Hui-ming Cheng, HTC will begin shipping their first Android based mobile handsets to OMD clients as schedules in the 4th quarter of this year, states an article on digitimes.

Cheng has indicated that HTC revenues are expected to grow 10 percent sequentially and 30 percent on year in the 3rd quarter which is buoyed by the expected launch of CDMA, GSM and the HTC Touch Diamond mobile handsets.

Chang also stated that HTC has shipped their Touch Diamond to more than thirty countries and fifty telecom operators, and that HTC’s gross margin will be reduced 1 percentage point in Q3 compared to Q2 due to rising ratio of OMD handsets.

Furthermore, Taiwan market resources indicate that HTC is expected to ship the XPERIA X1 mobile phone to Sony Ericsson in Q3 pushing up the ratio of ODM handsets.
