Virgin Mobile wants Liberty SIM in Superstores

Under: News Date: August 6th, 2008

Virgin Mobile has launched their market leader SIM only mobile deal, Liberty Sim, and is now available at Carphone Warehouse stores. Virgin Mobile now turns their attention to the non-specialists.

Virgin Mobile UK now supplies the £15 per months SIM only offer which offers customers 300 minutes and 300 text to Carphone Warehouse. This is the first time the SIM only deal has been offered on the high street.

Virgin Mobile bosses are now speaking to supermarkets with a view to extending the Liberty SIM only deal further.

The boss of indirect sales at Virgin Mobile stated: “We have mainly been successful in the direct channels so far. It is good to be able to build on that in a new channel after getting into Carphone. And we are in talks with the likes of the supermarkets to further build on this. We are the market leaders for Sim-only deals with a 29% market share. Sim-only is a new sub-category in the market place. We have found a very successful formula in it.”

Guess Virgin Mobile want their Liberty SIM in most stores.
