HTC has announced the HTC S740 mobile phone, a slim compact and stylish smartphone that combines the traditional 12 key mobile phone design with a sliding QWERTY keyboard to optimise mobile text messaging.
The HTC S740 features GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, WCDMA/HSDPA: 900/2100 MHz for EU and Asia, 2.4-inch QVGA screen, 3.2MP, with the second VGA camera for video calling, Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, 256 MB flash; 256 MB RAM, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, GPS/AGPS, microSD, QWERTY keyboard, FM radio, Google Maps, RSS Hub, and measures 116.3 x 43.4 x 16.3mm.

The HTC S740 mobile handset will be available across Europe from sometime in September 2008.
