Making payments for purchases via a mobile phone has come a step closer with the results of Europe’s largest trial of Near Field Communications tech on mobile phones, and it shows there is a clear consumer demand for a service such as this.
78 percent of trialists stated they were happy using NFC technology and would be interested in using contactless services if and when they become available.
89 percent of the trialists showed a strong interest in having Oyster on their mobile phone, and in excess of two thirds said they would be interested in seeing Barclaycard Visa payWave featured in the future.
