It appears that AT&T’s wireless data network was down on Wednesday morning across eastern America according to a reports coming in from customers and AT&T.

AT&T customers using various online forums reported this data network downtime in New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Missouri and Illinois.

Michael Coe, an AT&T spokesman said that access to the network was restored before noon Eastern Time; however he could not give an account on the extent of the outage.

Coe also remarked that most of the outage reports came from those customers using the Apple iPhone as the outage affected surfing and email.
