Mobile VoIP service launched in UK by Tesco

UK Supermarket chain Tesco has launched their new ‘Talkwifi’ service, a service that allows customers to make cheap mobile phone calls via VoIP over WiFi.

This new offering makes use of the service which has been developed by Australian firm Freshtel, which will require users to download an application to their mobile phone to get things up and running.

At present this service is restricted to a limited amount of mobile handset, and all being Series 60, WiFi enabled Nokia’s including the Nokia E51, Nokia E81, Nokia E65 and Nokia N95. Further mobile phones will be added soon.
