Today TiVo and RIM have announced a new partnership between the two companies allowing them to bring a variety of mobile entertainment services that work in conjunction with RIM’s leading BlackBerry(R) smartphones, the TiVo service will deliver the content to the consumer.
This new service will allow BlackBerry smartphone users to use their BlackBerry to schedule television recordings whilst they are away from their TV set and on the move.
As time progresses the two companies will collaborate and simplify mobile access to video content. So soon TiVo subscribers will be able to use their BlackBerry to control their TiVo DVRs. The initial software application from TiVo and RIM should be available at the end of the year according to reports.
