Do you prefer Pay-As-You-Go plans but fancy having an Apple iPhone 3G? Perhaps you already have an AT&T PAYG plan, and if so it is looking as if you can slip your AT&T PAYG SIM into an Apple iPhone 3G.

TUAW’s Erica Sadun tries this, and put a PAYG SIM card, complete with data package, into an Apple iPhone 3G, and guess what, it worked.

The word is the Apple iPhone 3G wasn’t unlocked or Pwned, but was activated with AT&T. So the main issue would be getting your hands on an Apple iPhone 3G in the box without activating in store or on contract.
