Wind, an Italian mobile operator has begun offering SIM cards with embedded DVD compliant optical disc in its plastic holder, which can be used to store PC software or media content.
Once Wind subscribers connect their mobile phone to their PC they just put in the Smart Video Card in the DVD reader and transfer the software from it.
Mobile Marketing and Customer Management Director at Wind, Maximo Ibarra, says: “We selected Gemalto’s Smart Video Card for the launch of our SuperInternet SIM offer because we look for modern and appealing means to communicate our initiative to our customers.”
With Smart Video Card, the operator’s complete environment can be installed on the PC, which makes it easier for subscribers to use mobile services.
