The HTC Dream, the much anticipated first Google Android smartphone is expected this month to go head to head with the Apple iPhone 3G, with the HTC Dream hitting stores at the same price as the Apple iPhone 3G’s $199.00.
At the moment it is unclear which service plans will be offered with the Google Android HTC Dream, however it T-Mobile ties the handset to similar plans to that they offer the BlackBerry then overall cost for the HTC Dream based on a 2 year contract would be just about comparable to that of the Apple iPhone 3G on AT&T’s network.
If $199 pricing is correct it will put the first Google Android in direct competition with the Apple iPhone 3G. But the big question is can the new Android gPhone generate as much interest as the iPhone?
