SanDisk has announced their pre-loaded music microSD cards the SlotMusic media in conjunction with four of today’s major music labels, and SlotMusic cards will be sold at retail stores as an alternative to the CD.

The first outlets to get hold of the SanDisk SlotMusic media will be Best Buy and Wal-Mart in the United States. At present there is no indication as to what music albums will be supplied on the SlotMusic media.

SlotMusic is seen as bridging the gap between the physical and digital worlds as potential users of mobile devices, especially the mobile phone, can simply slot the card direct into their handset.
