Motorola shows femtocell in photo frame: Video

Motorola have been pushing out a few demo videos of late and this particular one covers the concept of a CDMA femtocell embedded in a digital photo frame, and apparently Comcast plans to pursue WiMAX femtocells as part of the Clearwire rollout.

The general idea is that operators could promote 4G speeds in certain hotspots before network coverage is available everywhere, which points at femtocells possibly becoming a substantial part of our wireless infrastructure.

There are also whispers of femtocells being used in certain hotspots to boost LTE service when that finally hit the market.
