Nokia and Sony Ericsson: what will happen today?

Under: Nokia, Phone Business & Stocks, Sony Ericsson
Date: October 17th, 2008

We take a quick look at the two mobile phone stocks that could be affected today due to media reports and postings. Starting with Nokia the world’s largest mobile phone maker we think we should see a rise in early trade due to Thursday’s high stock closing in the states.

Sony Ericsson who is the fifth largest mobile phone maker in the world will be posting third-quarter earnings today. It’s been expected that Sony Ericsson will post $97 million (72 million euro) pretax loss in Q3 due to consumer spending downturn amid the global financial crisis. Last year Sony Ericsson posted gains for 384 million Euros pretax.
