Fennec, which is the new name for Firefox Mobile has reached milestone 9 which means it has turned Alpha. The previous eight milestones where all building up to this stable browser experience with an easy to use interface.
As with the other eight milestones, milestone 9 is pointed at the Nokia N800 and N810 Maemo internet tablets; there has been progress on a Windows Mobile version but as yet no release.
Below you will find a video walkthrough of the Fennec app, which is quite interesting and informative so check it out. Mozilla plan to do further alpha releases which focus on performance, including projects like TraceMonkey, speculative parsing, and many Fennec and Gecko optimisations.
