You could just buy one from craigslist or kijiji for $450-550 and get it unlocked at http://www.CellphoneUnlockingOnline.com
I did that and unlocked my AT&T Blackberry Bold at http://www.CellphoneUnlockingOnline.com for $15
very easy to unlock, they sent me an unlock code, I entered it and my bold is now unlocked and running on t_mobile!
