RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Flip getting the Rogers Treatment

Under: BlackBerry, News Date: October 29th, 2008

The new Research In Motion BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Flip launch kits are being shipped out, this should mean that the smartphone shouldn’t be too far behind, and the word is the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Flip should begin shipping today 29th October and be available for sale come Halloween.

So this means the Pearl 8220 Flip will be available, but there seems to be some uncertainty on the actual pricing. Over the last couple of weeks we have seen fliers from Canadian carrier Rogers listing the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Flip for $150.00 and FutureShop for $50.00, now we are seeing The Source offering it at $99.00 after a $50.00 rebate.

It appears that Rogers has cut their store operatives commission by 50% despite an increase in sales by 30%, could this move be so Rogers can push out the Pearl 8220 Flip at an even lower cost, or is there some other reason for the drastic cut in employee commissions?
