When announcing a new mobile phone, one of the main things you don’t want to do is delay, delay, and delay launch, but it seems Garmin don’t quite seem to understand that. Garmin announced the nuvifone as the GPS navigation maker’s first steps into the mobile arena.
Garmin was expected to go live with the Garmin nuvifone late this year, but somehow we don’t see that happening. However, after delaying time and time again, Garmin has actually placed a launch window for the nuvifone which they say will hit the market in the first half of 09.
But is it too late for the nuvifone? Garmin will now be going up against some big name competition such as the Apple iPhone 3G, T-Mobile G1, HTC Touch Pro and HTC Touch HD, all offering full GPS.
