According to figures announced by Epocrates Inc, hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals and consumers, which include in excess of 50,000 U.S. physicians, have in only 4 months, downloaded their drug and formulary reference application for the Apple iPhone and Apple iPod Touch.

The free Epocrates Rx for the iPhone has been available from the Apple iTunes App Store since July, and the professional drug guide application was an immediate hit amongst physicians.

Epocrates Rx for the iPhone provides on demand info on drugs for healthcare professionals whereby physicians can use their Apple iPhone or Apple iPod Touch to view correct dosage for new medication, with its pill identifier tool being a standout feature.
