Apple Vs RIM: iPhone more reliable than BlackBerry

Under: BlackBerry, Mobile Phones, News Date: November 10th, 2008

A new study taken on by SquareTrade shows that Apple is on the road to success with its iPhone and beating the likes of RIM.

The study reveals that out of 15,000 Apple iPhone devices only 5.6 percent failed in the first year of use, whereas a higher 11.9 percent Blackberry handsets failed in its first year. Palm came in at number 3 with 16.2 percent failing in a 12-month period.

It was said that the battery failure was worse on BlackBerry and Palm than the iPhone, seems like iPhone is doing ok.

The third of the failure rates came down to the touchscreen, now seeing as that BlackBerry has not yet got a touchscreen on the market they surely cannot add this to the report, RIM’s first ever touchscreen is the BlackBerry Storm which release on November 14.

We will let you conduct your very own survey and you can decide for yourselves, is the Apple iPhone more reliable than RIM BlackBerry devices?
