The official Nokia Photos 1.5 version is now available for Nokia fans to download, and is ready to compete with the likes of Google Picassa. Although Nokia Photos 1.5 doesn’t require a Nokia mobile phone to work, it does work at its best on Symbian S60 based smartphones.

Nokia NSeries owners however can take advantage of Nokia Photos 1.5 features such as converting videos on the fly to the correct ready for mobile format; they can even shrink images to the screen resolution and thus save storage space.

The Nokia N78 and Nokia N89 understand all tags in Nokia Photo 1.5 and display them in the “photos” app, and of course the Nokia Photos 1.5 app plays along nicely with the Nokia Ovi service.
