A research institute in Taiwan has reveals a smartphone with a folding display which allows the display to double its size to five inches. A mock-up smartphone was developed to showcase the display which opens like a book which the top half the display and the bottom half a keyboard.
Okay so where’s the double display I can hear you say, well it’s actually hidden beneath the keyboard which when needed can be pulled up to reveal the full five in screen when required, and to allow the screen to close over the keyboard the one centimetre “hinge” portion is actually flexible.
The images look like there is a break between both screens, but in fact it is a taskbar similar to the one seen on a PC screen, the difference being is the taskbar on this smartphone can be moved to show its entire screen.
Clever, yes?
