The LG KP500 Cookie, is LG’s attempt to give the world an affordable touch-screen handset, and it is a nice looking mobile phone that doesn’t hold a cheap feel, actually the LG KP500 Cookie is very similar to the LG Renoir.
But that’s about where LG Renoir resemblance ends, as the LG KP500 Cookie’s specs are less attractive than its looks, the best feature being its 3 megapixel camera apart from its touch-screen of course.
The LG KP500 Cookie doesn’t have 3G or WiFi so that’s one big downer for this handset which apparently is to be launched in the UK at the end of November with a price tag of around £100.00. A Renoir it isn’t an Apple iPhone no way.

Got the LG Cookie KP500, very good phone very impressed. I was worried that I would not get on with this phone as its touch screen but no problem couple of days you’ll get use to it! I find it easier to use my fingers instead of the stylus pen but then agen my fingers and not big so for the bigger finger people the stylus pen would be for you. Get this phone if not your missing out. Got everything you need for only £100.

The phone is ment for christmas, but I have had a good play on it. Its a great phone, very fun. Lots of great features including 3.2mp camera, great games and good memory (well reasonable). I handed my old handset into CPW and got £20 back, not quite sure how it works, but I bought a memory card from it. Cant wait till i get it all set up and going. Although CPW rang yesturday and told my mum they had given the wrong phone out, they said it was a demo phone!! :O I was pretty shocked they could make that mistake. But nothing really seemed different. Anyhow, they swapped it today and told me to give it a good charge, so earlier I put it on charge and it said ‘no sim inserted’. Im going back tomorrow to get it sorted. But I know its the sim because me and my sister tried each others sims in each others phones and her sim worked in both phones, whereas mine didnt. Not very happy with it.
Another thing, Ive read LOADS of reviews and some of them say the phone reboots itself (turns itself off). I asked a friend about it because her best mate has this phone and it did it to her. I asked what did she do, and she said it happened for about a week, but has been fine ever since. It hasnt happened to me while ive played on the phone but if it does, I will probably go back to CPW.
Some people have said the touch screen is hard to get used to, but its not. I got an iPod touch earlier this year as a bday present and that was really quick to get used to. Also when messaging, the Cookie has:
-handwriting recognition
-predictive text
-normal
which I think is really good.

I got this phone for christmas and i found it the best phone i have ever had! of course, it is no iphone, but what do you want for £100?! it is an amazing phone,, and is really easy to text on, with 5 different text settings you are sure to find the right type of style for you!! you could write it,, with handwriting recognition, or text normally, or type on the QWERTY keyboard,, whatever you like!! hopw this helps!

Do not get the phone it is a load of rubbish it turns itself of right when your in the middle of something, it freezes and turns really slow, my messaging cannot use T9 now for sum strange reason I strongly would not recommend this phone.

If you have enough money to get an iphone, then I would recommend the iphone 16GB. It’s just under £400. Check out the the Carphone Warehouse website at the iphone and other phones. I have the iphone 3G and I would definitely recommend it.

thisphone is good, i recommend it. before i got it i read a lot of bad reviews, so i was worried about it. yes its turned itself off on me a couple of times. but nothing can be done about it. its not a huge hassel anyway. and it isnt like all the time or anything. yes it has bluetooth.. and a data cable. i have had it for a while now (since christmas) and i can almost text without looking.. and thats difficult without buttons! anyway, hope this helps.. and dont be put off by the bad reviews, if you want it and can deal with the minor issues, i really recommend it :):) x

I like the touch screen, Its not as sensitive as i thought it would be, so its easily worked. The phone does have some nice features for the money. The texting can be quite annoying at times if your trying to respond to a message quickly, but if you take your time its fine. The phone is also supplied with a pull out pen, and if you tilt the phone sideway, you will see an on screen keypad, which makes texting easier. Theres also hand recognition for texting, if you like that. That camera isnt the best the market is offering right now compared to the 5mp and 8mp cameras now on offer. For the 3mp, the pictures arent bad, but if you are looking to take pictures a digital camera would be a better option than a mobile phone. There is a slot on the side of the phone, so you can expand your memory with an sd memory card. You can buy one of these for around £2-£3, online. As for suitable, it depends on what your asking, suitable for what? Its a nice phone, and worth the money. It offers a great alternative to the other costly touch screens on the market. The screen is very easily smudged by finger marks, so bear that in mind that you will need to constantly clean your screen.

the cookie works better than id expected, i recently downgraded from a htc hd toutch (iphone rival) that sells at around £400 to this an honestly was shocked this looks good easily personalised themes, pics an ringtones ect. so easy to text an email barely use the stylus ( altho ebay sells spares an cases all new )
was so impressed i got the mrs’ one in pink just dont tell i got it for £97 shes over the moon with it.
I really like the look of this phone, my friend has one and it is awesome. Can people just tell me, Does it break easily, Cos loads of my mates have told me not to get it bcos it is crap. ut i still lovee it!

Hi Ellaa. The appearance would be damaged easily, as to scratches ect if you drop it. I cannot say weather the phone itself would stop working, it would all depend on how hard it hits the ground. I would suggest getting yourself a little cotton pouch for the phone to protect it.

Had this phone just over a week, all smoke and mirrors, not much about it after the initial fun of the touchscreen, texting annoying, stylus is stupid, a very basic phone dressed up, what you get is a touch screen on a 20 quid fone. its getting swapped tomorrow.

you cant say this phone is rubbish if you dont have it. and the iPhone is like 45 a month which is quite ridiculous when you can get a good one for 100….. and most of us are like 12 and 13 so it would be a bit stupid if we just spent that much on a phone when you could spend it on loads more and still have the lg cookie. and thanks every one for the reviews its helped a lot:D.
Hi Tori. I have not had any problems with the phone turning itself off. I think its a great phone for its value and im pleased with it. You will get used to the touchscreen. I find it easy now. Ive had mine fore a few weeks. Texting is still a bit awkward with the touch, but everything else is fine.

Yes its true that it turns off in first-time use (happened 2 times for me on the day i bought this) but i just removed the battery,restarted the phone and it works again! after that, for a week now, the restart problem never happened again.

I have saved my contacts on my previous phone onto the sim card, I put the sim card into the cookie and it keeps saying SIM initialising. Its been saying that for the past 2 hours now XD When i try to add a contact it says Handset full.

DOES IT BREAK EASILY?: No more than most other phones. Try find an after-market soft phone case to minimize damage should you drop it. The screen is prone to scratching if the screen protector isn’t used and it does get grubby with fingerprints quite easy, but nothing a good scrub won’t cure

I got this phone in january and i loved it, but by march it was starting to do my heading, especially the texting. So a couple of weeks ago i changed to the samsung tocco ultra, this is the best fone yet but i think this is because its touch screen like the lg but theres a keypad to type. I liked the lg but it was getting slow and the texting was getting annoying, like i was typing a word and it would be on the word before. but all in all its an okay fone.

This is a good phone, but sometimes there are problems, like you get with any phone. I have had problems but it happens rarely and they are not major problems. The touchscreen is very good because it is not overly sensitive.
I was just wondering if there was any way of me saving all my messages to the sim card because I am getting my upgrade soon and would really like to keep some of my important messages.
If anyone could let me know if there is a solution to this I would be more than greatful.

I have an LG Cookie, which i’m pretty impressed with, but this morning i accidentally clicked on something called “format external memory”, which i couldn’t cancel. I’ve now lost all of my musi9c, viedos, photos, etc from my memory card, and it had so many memories on. Does anyone know how to help me fix it?

i have the lg cookie, it is the best phone ive ever had, but i want to turn off the sound when i take a photo? my phones on silent but the camera still makes a noise, does anyone know how to do it?

also, i wanted to keep my number, and the man in the shop said it would be 24 hours maximum for my number to swap to my new sim card. it still hasnt. did this happen to anybody? if so, what did you do?

i have the lg cookie but i find that whenever i put on screen cover there are white circles coming onto the screen. i do not know if it is the way i put it on. i also found that the stylus scratches my screen. does it happen to anyone elses? apart from these 2 the phone is great. 4.5/5

if you want a security code,,
just to let you know it will block youur phone
so youu have to ring them up and ask them for PUK code, it hapens to every onee who does a code, so just to lett you knoww your phone might be bloacked forr a bitt,,
until youuu ring them!

the only bad things that happened 2 my phone;
one it wouldnt let me send texts for a bit and seemed a bit faulty
and no u cant put camera on silent:S :/
there has been a few faults tbh (to be honest)
buuttt .. only really when u first get them in the first few weeks.. and the faults dont last long…

This phone is pretty good, only problem is it occasionally switches itself off and then you cannot turn it back on for hours. :/

is this phone loud like the navigator phone ? it because i have the navigator phone but not sure if i should get the cookie phone . coz i love playing music .
Nope this is nothing like the navigator phone. The Lg Cookie Is a good phone but it has it’s bad points. They go off whilst in your handbag or pocket. They also have a tendancy to change settings whilst in your pocket too. It also sends messages by itself and rings people if you unlock it by accident. It is extremely touch sensative which can get annoyng.

My son got a cookie about two months ago he had no problems with it till recently. due to the unlock button being on the touch screen when he has had it in his pocket it has unlocked itself and then phoned people. This happened on a number of occasions and he lost about £10 credit. has anyone else noticed this problem? is there any way of overcoming it?

hey .um….i had an ericsson (k530i) ..and now i switched to cookie…can i use that phone’s M2 memory card with this phone..too.or do i need a microsd..card
this phone is awful, i had it one day and it froze twice and refuses to load properly now, just on startup loop. rubbish tat which LG should be ashamed of!
i have some money to spend on any phone. should i buy this one? i want to make sure that my money is well spent!! tb
