Song ID reaches 10 million downloads for Verizon

Verizon Wireless was proudly shouting out that their song identifying application Song ID, has now been downloaded ten million times, quite an achievement. Verizon’s Song ID application was first launched back in May of 2007 and users have requested in excess of one hundred million titles via Song ID.

Verizon Wireless has also announced the top ten list of identified songs which have been downloaded as mobile phone ringtones, along with the top ten songs identified and downloaded and purchased as a ringtone.

So it seems Verizon Wireless’s Song ID application is doing rather well for Verizon, but one wonders just how well those figures would stake up against say the Apple iTunes Store.
