The Great BlackBerry Storm sticker scandal, RIM confesses

Under: BlackBerry, News Date: November 25th, 2008

The great BlackBerry Storm delay has finally been solved with Research In Motion fessing up and shouldering the blame stating the supposed Blackberry Storm OS sticker glitch was in fact more than that as there was no such OS as 4.7.0.82.

Boxed BlackBerry Storms were showing up in stores with stickers saying OS version 4.7.0.82 while the Storm actually used OS version 4.7.0.65, this then prompted rumours that the BlackBerry Storm’s OS had to be downgraded which caused the delay.

However, RIM are now saying that several thousand boxes were actually printed with the incorrect OS number which then needed covering with the sticker showing the correct OS version. So one can say that puts the great BlackBerry Storm delay scandal to rest, all RIM needs now is to release an update.
