Motorola W530 simplistic clamshell for China

Under: Motorola, News
Date: December 4th, 2008

Motorola is apparently prepping a new simple clamshell mobile phone called the Motorola W530, which is set for the Chinese market, and although isn’t what one would call a world class smartphone beating handset, it will make calls and texts.

The Motorola W530 clam measures 99 x 45 x 17.5mm and features a 1.3 megapixel camera, FM radio, 220 x 176 resolution internal display with external display being 96 x 80 pixels, quad-band GSM/EDGE, 20MB internal memory, microSD expansion slot.

And that’s about it, no word as to when the Motorola W530 is likely to hit China or even how much it is likely to cost.

I have a W530 and I think it is a very stylish, solid phone. It has data and music capacity and it has Bluetooth and a micro SD memory expansion slot. The colors of the phones housing are gray and yellow and the software icon color and design are outstanding. The manual is in Chinese and support for the phone may not be available in English-speaking countries, fyi, but the manual for the W510 is available in English and mostly you can find your way around the phone just fine without a manual.

I really like the W530 and I would recommend it to others.
