Bluetooth 2.2 is likely to be released by the middle of 2009 according to CNET. This amazing new Bluetooth technology will be called either Bluetooth 100x this one will be working with UWB or Bluetooth 10x working in conjunction with WiFi. The design will work with Bluetooth technologies already found in many devices.

This is great news for handsets and PMP manufacturers, this could expand the range of possibilities allow mark larger file transfer when using Bluetooth media streaming.

Plus, hopefully the new specifications will remove the Bluetooth viruses, but whatever the new Bluetooth 2.2 brings we are sure it’s going to be a huge improvement.
