Apple iPhone gains Microsoft Seadragon app before Windows Mobile?

Microsoft engineers have released their 1st app for the popular Apple iPhone, and this Microsoft app comes to the Apple iPhone even before to goes live on Microsoft’s very own platform.

The app is called Seadragon Mobile, a free Apple iPhone app which was added to the Apple iTunes App Store on Saturday. Seadragon Mobile for the iPhone allows iPhoners to rapidly zoom in on images whilst online.

Seadragon is also the mainstay of Microsoft’s Photosynth that allows users to gather a group of images and stitch them together into a faux 3D environment. So the thing is, why has Microsoft launched this app for the iPhone before their own platform? Any ideas?
