Egyptian telecom giant supplies North Korea with new mobile network

Today, Egyptian telecom giant Orascom Telecom launched an advanced mobile phone network in North Korea. This is an attempt to intro a worldwide symbol of personal freedom into one of the planets most heavily controlled societies.

Orascom Telecom Holding SAE have been working on the network since January when they gained a $400 million deal and has said that Sunday was the official launch of the 3rd generation mobile network service.

Orascom Telecom hasn’t shied away from inverting in challenging places around the globe and so fan runs networks in Africa, South Asia and the Middle East. However it isn’t clear what control, if any, will be imposed on this new network.
