The rumours about Microsoft’s Project Pink refuse to die down, and latest whispers indicate the mobile arena isn’t looking at a single Microsoft branded mobile handset, but rather an entire software and services platform.

The work is Project Pink may include Zune Mobile support in its offering, which may well render into a Zune Mobile software package for Windows Mobile that could well be more robust media support than any previous Microsoft powered mobile phone, and could also predict a mobile downloads store.

Ballmer has already stated Zune support would eventually filter down through Windows Mobile, so there could well be a Project Pink tie in. It obviously isn’t enough to just resurrect Windows Mobile in the consumer space but it would be a beginning and just may quell those whispers of a Zunephone.
