Info loaded RIM BlackBerry sold by McCain camp

Under: BlackBerry, News
Date: December 16th, 2008

Remember the presidential campaign in the States, well Republican nominee John McCain’s campaign were apparently selling off ten BlackBerry smartphone in a bid to recoup some costs.

Well word is an Arlington, Va based Fox 5 investigative team are saying they purchased one of said Research In Motion BlackBerry smartphones from the McCain camp, and found it to contain rather a lot of confidential campaign info which included email and phone numbers.

Apparently the team were able to pick up said BlackBerry for just $20.00 with dead battery and no charger, but when they charged up the BlackBerry more than 50 phone numbers of people connected to the McCain-Palin campaign, along with hundreds of email came up.

Seems like someone was naughty and forgot to erase that stuff from the memory; just goes to show how tight security is though doesn’t it.
