Nokia India makes boo-boo over international boundaries

Nokia India has issued a statement admitting they had made an error in showing Kashmir as a part of Pakistan territory in the Nokia mobile navigation system.

In the statement, Nokia states…’Nokia India, deeply regrets an inadvertent error in depicting certain international boundaries in an older version of its maps.’

Furthermore the statement said that Nokia India deeply regrets the error in depicting particular international boundaries in the older version of Nokia Maps and that it was a technical error when merging map data layers.

Nokia also urges all consumers to upgrade to Nokia Maps 2.0 to access the latest version of India Maps.
