The final line up for smartphone sales for 2008 see’s Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 3G taking the first place, closely followed by the Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) G1, the we have Research in Motion (RIM) and the BlackBerry Storm its first touchscreen creation and in fourth place with have the Nokia (NYSE:NOK) 97.

With such big phone manufacturers being at the top of the smartphone market, the growth has been phenomenon in 2008, with even bigger increases forecast for 2009.

With the smartphone market booming in 2008, its fuelled the rest of the mobile market, not just with the handsets but with the new emerging application’s market with Apple App Store and the Google Android market setting things off.
