Fring receives update for Windows Mobile phones

Under: News, Phone Software Date: January 7th, 2009

Windows Mobile handset users may be interested to know that there is a new version of the popular VoIP and instant messaging app, fring available which sports an abundance of improvements.

Just some of these improvements to fring are… new and improved fring add-ons; now supports new phones such as the Sony Ericsson X1 and Samsung Omnia; file transfer in Windows Mobile to send to fring, MSN, Yahoo and Skype friends; new “Go-To menu”, new Add-Ons Management screen, typing indication, Privacy and “Joystick-In” settings, and earpiece support for HTC smartphone owners.

Also, fring has been given Microsoft’s “Designed for Windows Mobile” certification, which I guess makes it all the better but doesn’t actually mean anything for the end user.
