Mobile phone Google GPS locates 9 year old kidnap victim

Just how good is Google Street View GPS on a mobile phone? Well apparently extremely good as a police officer and firefighter in Athol Massachusetts combined forces when authorities alerted that 9 year old Natalie Maltais may have possible been kidnapped.

The officers apparently used GPS in Natalie’s mobile phone to locate her approximate location by feeding the information into Google Street View they managed to pinpoint a hotel whereby Natalie was subsequently recovered.

Police officer Todd Neale contacted AT&T and they gave him the coordinates every time the mobile phone was activated, he then contacted Athol’s deputy fire chief Thomas Lozier who previously had used GPS to direct fire-fighters tackling forest fires, and to locate lost hikers.
