Even in the mobile phone arena everyone likes to win an award, and the awards are up for grabs as the GSMA announce the finalist in the 14th Global Mobile Awards.

The 3rd category of this year’s awards, Best Mobile Handset or Device includes 2 sub-categories which are business devices and socializing teen-oriented handsets.

What does surprise though is that a few of the hottest handsets aren’t in the finals, the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch HD, and the Samsung i900 Omnia or Samsung i8510 INNOV8, for some reason Samsung and HTC have been left out along with not one sign of any 8 megapixel cameraphones which is quite puzzling.

Winners of the 14th Global Mobile Awards will be announced during the MWC 2009 on 17th February in Barcelona.
