Way back in the 60’s a TV show began its first run and has spawned several off-shoots over the years, the merchandise is huge and one item in the show I would consider the first idea for the mobile phone.
The show was Star Trek, the item the Star Trek Communicator; that hand held flip action device that so many mobile phones use today.
Now it appears the Star Trek Communicator has been made a reality in its own right. Based on the Original Star Trek Communicator it connects via USB to be used as a VoIP, Skype phone.
A small piece of TV history I’m sure most Star Trek fans will want.
