Video: Garmin Asus Nuvifone G60 finally seen in action

Under: Mobile Phone Video News, Mobile Phones
Date: February 19th, 2009

Finally after all the waiting and promises, Garmin have shown a working model of the elusive Nuvifone G60 mobile phone. However they didn’t manage it alone and had to take on a partner in Asus, thus the Garmin Nuvifone is now the Nuvifone G60.

The Garmin Asus Nuvifone G60 has a full touchscreen at 3.55 inches WQVGA anti-glare resistive, and even though it’s resistive and not capacitive it is still fairly responsive.

There will however still be a wait for the Garmin Asus Nuvifone G60 as it won’t be available until the summer and so we have a video demonstration of the G60 in action below.

Seems pretty responsive but a resistive touch screen….. YUCK!
After all of the hype and how long it took to release I am disappointed in it having a resistive touch. When will companies catch up? Go capacitive, resistive technology actually relies on small mechanical parts that eventually brake down.
