The gains of celebrity status seem to hold no bounds these days as that’s stars attending the Independent Spirit Awards are to receive a goodie bag which will contain amongst other luxury gear, a Palm Pre smartphone.

But apparently the Palm Pre handsets where only there to play with and not actually be given out, so more than likely just a simply publicity stunt to make sure the Palm Pre remains in the headlines.

One thing to consider though is if these Palm Pre’s were freely allowed to be played with in such an uncontrolled environment, doe it mean the Palm Pre is nearer to launch that expected?
