Under: Apple iPhone, Mobile Phones Date: February 28th, 2009

After sixteen months of being available in the United Kingdom, O2 has revealed the Apple iPhone has only just reached the one million handsets sold.

This release is part of a wider release which looked at the highlights of O2’s latest financial quarter, and the one million mark relates to both the original Apple iPhone and the Apple iPhone 3G sold in the UK.

Apple originally launched the iPhone in the UK in November 07 and followed with the Apple iPhone 3G in July 08, and as of January 09 Apple has sold in excess of ten million iPhone handsets globally.
