AT&T planning trade in scheme for used mobile phones?

A great many people when receiving a new mobile phone often put their old handset up for auction on eBay or Craigslist, mainly due to they will probably get more cash for it. But what if there was an alternative?

Now you may not make as much as on eBay or Craigslist, but it’s always nice to keep options open and one new option may be heading your way from AT&T. Apparently, AT&T is thinking about implementing a trade-in program which would allow customers to place a “used value” towards a new purchase.

Nothing confirmed as yet and apparently for a mobile phone to hold a “used value” it must be less than 2 years old and of course in reasonable shape. The other thing is if you use the “used value” then the new handset you want won’t have any subsidies attached. Still it’s an option I guess.
