Today Amazon is expected to unveil a free app for the Apple iPhone and Apple iPod Touch which will deliver the same ebooks available on Amazon’s Kindle.

The new Amazon app for the Apple iPhone will deliver ebooks, magazines, and newspapers that Kindle users can purchase on Amazon, and the use og Whisper Sync will keep track of a reader’s place in their ebook.

There are other popular ebook readers for the Apple iPhone such as eReader, Lexcycle and Fictionwise, but this will be the first time Kindle content has been made available via a non-Kindle device.
